If the traveler only pays €9, how does Nilo make money?
The €9 goes to us. That's the whole business model. Travelers happily pay it because the rate they see is the rate the hotel keeps — no 15-22% markup baked in. We're the only channel where the hotel and the traveler are on the same side of the math.
Will travelers actually find me here?
Yes — but not by outranking anyone on Google. The Demand agent places you inside answers from Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and the new generation of travel apps. Today 38% of Nilo bookings arrive through an AI agent citing us. That share grows monthly.
What if a guest no-shows or chargebacks?
Our Fraud agent screens every booking before it hits your calendar — ID mismatches, stolen cards, high chargeback risk. If a chargeback lands despite the screening, Nilo eats it, not you. No-show fees are pre-authorized on the guest card during Handshake.
Do I have to leave Booking.com and the others?
Not on day one. Keep every channel you have. Nilo syncs the same calendar via your PMS, so we won't double-book you. Most hoteliers let the other channels quietly fade over 3–6 months, once Nilo becomes their largest direct source.
What about local tourism tax and registration?
The Compliance agent handles it. Tourism tax filed to your municipality, guests registered with the national police system where required (SEF in Portugal, Mossos in Catalonia, Portale Alloggiati in Italy), invoices issued in the right format. You review, you don't re-key.
How long does it take to go live?
